Columbus Based Startup Named Finalist at MIT Sports Analytics Conference

COLUMBUS, February 21st, 2023 —- KloutMachine, a Columbus-based NIL startup that uses data to value college athletes, has been announced as one of 10 finalists at this year’s MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference. The startup was founded in 2020 by two former Ohio State students: Noah Weisblat & Somto Akaeze, and recently joined by former buckeye all-american Chimdi Chekwa.

The company uses predictive analytics and machine learning to assign their 0-100 KloutMachine score to college athletes every time they step onto the field of play. Brands can use this score to sign athletes up for NIL engagements, while agents, fans, and others can make use of the data behind it.

“This is a great chance for the company to share the importance and impact data is already having in the new world of NIL,” Weisblat said.
